I enjoy reflecting on my days in radio and TV. Recently I recorded dozens of voice tracks for my app Radio Star. A vital piece of recording gear is the Apogee microphone my boys bought me a few Christmases ago.
Synthetic voices are also a hobby, and smart Basic can access some very realistic iOS voices. The British voice (I call him Clive Adams) is a very authoritative news source - even though I make up the stories!
Other synthetic yet very pleasant and expressive radio voices: Ann, who does the station ID and Bridget O'Toole who gives regular time and weather updates on Ricardo Radio.
There are many voice-changing apps available on the App Store. I have a few of them, and they can be be quite entertaining. They can dramatically change pitch, speed and tonal quality.
